Ian Riddoch comented this week about the differences in the problems facing Glasgow and Edinburgh at the moment than those that caused the closure of the borders. He talks about how the problem (particularly in glasgow) is that people dont know the team exists. In the borders however, everyone knew of the teams existence and even when they were playing. They just didnt go! This is a very hard problem to rectify, and nothing was happing except the reivers being a strain on SRU resources - finally the SRU decided enough was enough and pulled the plug!Reports today though suggest a consortium wishes to open a new pro franchise playing at pitodrie.
