I find it ridiculous that players qualify after a few years of residency, and then are allowed to leave.

One example is: Josh Strauss. Qualified and played for Scotland and returned to South Africa.

The rule has changed to 5 years anyway...

Will Lowe leave the same way Strauss did now he’s capped? No, not if he wants to keep getting picked for Ireland. Will he stay in Ireland when he finishes? Who knows he seems to really like life here but the people he grew up with are in NZ.

With the rule changes I think it’s pretty moot anyway.
