On at 1500 hours, England and Russia are the front runners according to BBC (so in other words, the BBC as per usual are over-hyping English football and Russia are clear front runners).

Will it be the Olympic Starter in 2012, the Rugby League Fish course in 1013, the Full bodied Roast Beef dinner RWC 2015 and that pork pie at bedtime which keeps you awake all night with indigestion (and you end up regretting it) with the Soccer World Cup in 2018 as England gets a grand-slam of global sport hosting in the next decade?

Holland and Belgium have a shared bid to host the 2018 World Cup. That would be awesome!!! However, I really think it will be Russia since they never hosted a major tournament before, they have shitloads of money, got the Winter Olympics to be held in Sochy in 2014 and Russia is as corrupt as FIFA. A match made in heaven

In fairness England got best bid. I think if Russia get it then the security issues for fans will be bad and the fact that it's so expensive too means economically it isn't the best idea.

Russia has more money to spend on the World Cup than England. People like Putin, Abramovich etc. are all people backing the bid and will spend so much money that it will be financially the most attractive option for the people who vote. England has the better infrastructure, Russia has more money. We all know FIFA. It will be Russia

Expensive for you you mean. I'm sure fans travelling from Eastern Europe would be perfectly happy to have it in that neck of the woods while I doubt it will make much difference for anyone travelling from further afield.

I'd like England to get it. It's right round the corner after all so a 26 year old Feicarsinn could have a great time. Doesn't look good for them in the light of all the talk of corruption in FIFA they've been stirring up and the trouble at the WBA vs Villa game last night.

England and Russia for me, should be England to be honest. Can guarantee players safety something that you feel Russia cannot do. Be interesting to see how this goes.

Feic drink is like 10euro a pint and accomodation very expensive. Like you though I'd prefer England (could you imagine if Ireland qualify).

Taken from some Dutch tourism site:
The usual price for a half litre of Russian draught beer in pubs - 60-100 roubles (€1.70-2.80), imported beer - 110-200 roubles (€3.00-6.00)

Reasonable enough.

Cheeper then 5.50 Euros in most Dublin Temple Bar pubs at least! (Pre-economy ******** up that is, I wouldn't be surprised if that rises by 50% or more in the next 2 years).

If anything prices have fallen pretty dramatically. In my city centre pub pints are only 4 quid.

The cheapest (and probably best) night out in Ireland is in Galway. Pints 3 to 4 euro and a great athmosphere around the town. If ye get the chance o go to a Connacht match jump on it.

When I was last over there a (HEC Q/F time) Guinness was 3.80 in Limerick and £5.50 in Temple bar. A far cry from being out on the **** with my cousin in Dromcondra and buying them for something like E2.80 (which was about 0.25p pack then! Bliss! :) )

Ah but Bullit in Limerick you got great Guinness. :)

as for Russia when there is a sporting event on they look for profit. Too much to write but when Champion League Final was there the English fans were majorly ripped off and the prices for things such as Taxis were ridiculous

It was good in Dolands pub, but Chloesseys was bloody awful!

I don't think we can comment on Russia though considering what a bunch of c*nts hotel owners are being in New Zealand atm.

One thing that may go against the Russian bid is the fact there is a large amount of racism there ... BBC spoke to a Ghanaian international who plays for one of the top Moscow sides who said there is a great deal of racism.

In other news: Spanish radio report Russia has won.

Likely as Roman Abramovich was smiling like a Cheshire cat!

Unconfirmed Reports: England were not in the final ballot and knocked out and that Russia have won ... oh the lolz

It was particularly kind of the BBC to offer themselves up as a scape goat!
