World XV and Classic XV

World XV:

15. Beale
14. Ashton
13. O'Driscoll
12. Williams/Giteau
11. Gear

9. Youngs

1. The Beast
2. Smit

Classic XV is impossible - just for fullback you could make a strong case for JPR, Blanco, Cullen, Robinson, Hastings etc etc...

Classic XV:

15 - JPR
14 - Gerald Davies
13 - Little
12 - Horan
11 - Shane Williams
10 - Barry John
9 - Gareth Edwards
1 - Os du Randt
2 - Sean Fitzpatrick
3 - Graham Price
4 - John Eales
5 - Willie John Mcbride
6 - Michael Jones
7 - Kronfeld/Pienaar/McCaw
8 - Morne du Plessis/Mervyn Davies

Shane Williams is hardly a classic - considering he's still playing, and would feature in a few peoples World XVs
Same with McCaw

Yeah. Even if it's just for variety, I think it's worth skipping any players from the Classic XV if they would already be in the game. I also agree with the calls for global variety over definite best-ever-in-position players. I'd look most at the biggest names of the past ...which is why Lomu has to be in, even though I've never rated his skills.

is that not just the barbarians??

N.B. I thought that for the teams, it was important to try to include as many players from different countries as realistically possible so there may be some choices that you don't agree with like Hastings instead of Blanco or Cullen. Also, in the WORLD XV I picked players who might be a bit past their prime now but a couple of years ago were the best of the best like Matfield and Wilkinson (the important thing is that they are sill playing!).

Agreed - he's not even the best loose head at Sale Sharks, let along in England, let along in the Northern Hemisphere

This would be a great idea, and so much fun to be able to play as them and not have to edit the teams yourself ;) Playing as Sunny Bill Williams and Chris Ashton together would be my dream so hopefully they put it in :D

I know I totally agree with both of you (Including TRF_Cymro) but I'm just really patriotic and like to think everyone in the England team is the best at their position in the world even though I know it's maybe not true about any of them. (This does exclude the centres, but only temporarily while they find their feet and Hape gets booted out):D

Go for Joe Marler/Alex Corbisiero/Lee Imiolek then :p
All better than Sheridan, all English (well, Corbs is Italian/American but plays for England soooo.....) - Imiolek was keeping Sheridan out of the Sale squad for a while, despite only being 19/20
