WRU probing claims over stars’ night out
THE Welsh Rugby Union is to investigate why police were called to an incident in Cardiff city centre after four of its leading players celebrated the win over England.

Witnesses said officers were called as Gavin Henson, Lee Byrne, Mike Phillips and Andy Powell went out drinking on Sunday night.

A WRU spokesman said last night: “We will immediately look into these claims after being alerted to them by Media Wales. We have no further comment to make at this stage.â€

Witnesses said Henson, who missed the game with a calf injury, was led out of two pubs after heated exchanges.

*sigh*
It wouldn't surprise me if Gatland dropped them all as punishment. I'm sure he'll beat them to an inch of their lives regardless though. As for Henson, well, what an idiot. That goes for all of them, don't get me wrong, but he's done his Welsh chances an even larger blow now.

Hand's up everyone who instantly thought Henson and Philips when they saw this thread ***le. More surprising then anything else is that he (Philips) was the piece keeper.

The Orange One is rather rapidly developing himself a rap sheet longer then my arm, what with the post Micky Mouse cup win exposure incident and now this.

The arsehole must not be able to hold his drink!

Or maybe he can, and he's just a bit rowdy when he's drunk.

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if they were acting like normal lads would after a win in a sports game, out on the lash, enjoying themselves. If Henson wasn't with them/in the public eye so much and they were in a country where a rugby player could walk past the majority of its population and not get noticed then this wouldn't be happening.

Fair enough there was maybe a heated discussion, but pretend for a second that's not commonplace on a Saturday night...so f*** if they are rugby players, fair enough the represent Wales at a sport, but they are still human...holding them in any higher regard than that is kind of stupid my view.

Obviously, little is known about this situation, maybe they weren't the aggressors, maybe they got into a scruffle with someone else rather than those reported? Maybe they were defending there honour...maybe they were just a little bit drunk and got carried away. So f***, they are human, just because they play international rugby doesn't mean they are any better than anyone else, the sooner people stop thinking anything to the contrary the better.

This would never happen to Rob Kearney :p

Hah! With Gatland at the helm, Mike would start if he was in the centre of a murder trial so that Peel couldn't start!

Yep 100%

All Peel can do now is ...

“Lee Byrne was good as gold and took Henson out of the pub. but dropped resulting in a scrumâ€.

Damn right. Never in a million years would Kearney drop anything.

Just saw this

Can just imagine how bad it was for Mike Phillips to have to apologize over the pub's speakers, and for Lee Byrne to have to escort Henson out of there while preventing himself from elbowing him in the nose.

I lolled at this: "Another onlooker later saw Henson outside the pub, throwing his money around telling people to take it."
