Welcome to... What? 2008?
Same story as every 6N and every AI since then
RFU pay (currently) £37M per year for access to the players for training weeks.
If the SRU/WRU/FIR want to pay the same (or, presumably, 1/6 of that for 1/6 as many players) then they're more than welcome to.

Quite how any NH rugby fan is still unaware of this is beyond me.
Where does your £37.5m come from? according to RFU report 2023/24 they spent only £28.7m on all players fees and contracts for 15s and 7s, male and female, pathway & VIK. Surely that payment to the club's should be within that figure. Btw the clubs only got £24.8m from the RFU, a reduction of £6.2m from the previous year, so it's not in there either (page 32) financial report.

What's the Welsh attack plan now that Howely is back? I assume the usual soundbites about playing in the right areas, earning the right to go wide and getting over the gain line whilst forgetting the basics.... scoring points

Of course! Why score points when you can send one up runners into midfield without support, stuggle to make any yardage, then kick the ball away or concede a turnover?

Easterby one of the names being floated around the take over from Gatland

Great shout IMO, though you'd imagine he's unavailable until the autumn because of Farrell's Lions holiday

Would be happy with Easterby. Lives in Wales already, so I can see why he may be interested.

Some people question why a top coach would be interested, but we're rock bottom atm, the only way is up, and they could really make a name for themselves if they improve us. Look at Henry in the early 2000's, he didn't have to achive lots of success to be dubbed the 'great redeemer', but he implemented change that set us on course for better things.

I think a lot of cosches would back themselves to improve this Welsh team. Picking form players in their natural position and hiring a competent attack coach would make a big difference!

Just need Howley and Humphrey’s to **** off now. I’d get Dai Young in on an interim basis if you can’t get the avengers back together.

This is good news. I still love you Gats, kind of, but **** me, you’ve done your best to try and tarnish your legacy and while you’ve not helped yourself these last couple of years, the main problems aren’t your fault. Thanks for the memories (not the last couple of years, you know, the earlier ones, please don’t come back, diolch)

So did he resign or was fired or mutual consent? The BBC article I read was very unclear. Apparently, he was contracted to 2027, but was also set to leave at the end of the 6Ns anyway...

Article yesterday said there was a break clause this summer, I wonder if they've come to mutual agreement that they'll break a few months early instead?
Can't be a pleasant environment for Gatland either, tbf
The way Gatland's been going the Welsh would be happy to club together for a hitman.

Eddie Jones is in the country
Stuart Lancaster is free
...
I still think Lancaster would be a great shout for Wales. He’s often regarded as only being good with young players, but the Leinster players seemed to really rate him.

Would be an interesting dynamic given how much the 2013 6 nations and 2015 world cup were rubbed in by the Welsh, both on Lancaster's watch.
