I was under the impression that you could get a straight red or a bunker red, but both get the same penalty - I've not read much into it though

I thought a full red is no replacement.

Just read up on BBC a referee can give a permanent red for 'deliberate and dangerous acts of foul play'

Any foul play with intent to injure is a full red.

If a headbutt, when ball is not in play is not intent to injure, God knows what is.

I believe straight reds for 'violent foul play' haven't changed. **** knows how matthew cantsee can see a headbutt to the face and think it might be eligible for mitigation
