Shouldn't be,
His try (which was incredible, don't get me wrong) is doing a lot of heavy lifting in his ratings for today

He'll probably go though, the media have made up their mind and they need someone especially young/green to garner more interest and carry around that cuddly toy

I dunno. I have been hesitant to get aboard the hype train but 24 tackles (I think?) and a number of important turnovers aren’t to be sniffed at.

Ultimately, there aren’t many players his age capable of making such a big impact in the semi final of Europe’s premier competition against a proxy for a top 3 test side.

I mean that's kind of my point - outside of his try did he have more impact than say Augustus? I don't think so. Fair play he's young but that's not particularly stand out these days either

He played well in the second half, don't get me wrong, but the first half was poor

Not sure how accurate rugbypass stats are as they've only got him down for 3 penalties and it was definitely more than that, but it has him at 18 tackles, 1 dominant, 1 miss - obviously good stats but not particularly stand out for an open side

Not trying to be a hater but no other player would be getting this amount of hysteria if they had that game. I guess my main issue is with lazy rugby media/pundits

Still think he should be touring with England not with Lions

I think you’re being more than a touch harsh. While I’m always reluctant to over hype a player, Pollock is repeatedly writing his own headlines.

I’m always more inclined towards a hard working, nuts and bolts type of flanker (in my own image), but it’s getting harder and harder to deny that Pollock is genuinely outstanding.

Bear in mind that I haven't actually seen all that much of Pollock in senior rugby - and wasn't able to watch yesterday's matches.
Once people talk about his play without the bolded proviso, is when he should be going with the Lions.

His age matters when the talk is of developing him as a player - at club and international level.
It's utterly irrelevant for a "now" tour with no need for development whatsoever. The Lions don't give a single dan about how good he COULD be, or WILL, they can only care about how good he IS.

He may be good enough right now - in which case, his age is irrelevant.
Equally, he might be behind VdFlier, Underhill, Morgan & JWillis for the 7 shirt.
I suspect it will come down to how Farrell wants to balance his backrow and back5, and what game plan he wants to use.

I said it yesterday but he's still making very easy to spot errors which refs are only too happy to blow up for. Personally I think he needs a bit more gametime, experience, and to settle down a touch to make his cheating more subtle and allow him to McCaw it

Don't disagree.

He 100% needs to be in the England team, he has something no one else has in the pack and that is genuine speed. He's what I think people wanted Dombrandt to be. I think he will be used by us like Kwagga Smith is with SA and tbh I see him playing quite a bit at 8 for England. His antics don't annoy me but I just see it potentially being the same way for every player that gets the same hype early.

Hell look at Marcus Smith hype, it's derailed before the train got moving and suddenly Finn Smith is the main hype train.

Like I wouldn't have him starting in a full strength England team my preference would still be
6. Chessum
7. Curry
8. Willis

But the bench IMO should be
20. Coles
21. CCS
22. Pollock
23. JVP
24. M.Smith

Which has crazy impact potential.
