What's your squad look like?

The public and media outrage this would cause is surely not worth it?

But as others say, I think this was inevitable. Farrell snr was waiting for an excuse and has been since about April.

Owen Farrell with the punditry gig was made for this moment, his dad prob told him that he would be a fly half cover and that him being based in Aus already will be used as the reason for his call up
Apparently he's not even in Aus, his punditry was just for the Argentina game

Has Farrell actually been called up yet or is everyone losing their **** over a rumour...again?

If so I have an old Tennessee saying for you.
I mean the BBC are reporting it as almost certainly happening abd opened a comments section for people to lose their **** about it.

Thats usually a sign of a sure thing.

Surely not, makes no positional sense either.

Would also pot-commit Marcus Smith to 15?

Just be really surprised and disappointed if that was the call.

Strange one. Listening to Steve Borthwick reading between the lines he's not been picked for England as the best thing for him to do after returning from France was to get his family and self re-settled and get his head down with Saracens.

Borthwick telling a fib to help Farrell save face? Been a bit undermined now.

The guy just doesn’t deserve this tour, end of story. Out of form, out of match practice and out of international rugby. No doubting he’s been a test match animal across a number of Lions and England games, but tbh he hasn’t got a place in the England squad. Let alone amongst an even more talented Lions one.

Literally no one other than a coaches son would be under discussion here given those same circumstances.

I thought Andy was better than this tbh.

I know Im super down on Farrell but when has he ever had a defining Lions match? He's only ever been in the starting 15 during the 2017 tour and even then shouldn't have

Even the England brilliant games are a handful over his career.

I bloody hate the statement test match animal as if there some kind of x factor.

If this happens, A Farrell will have thought about it hard. He’ll know the risks to group dynamics.

I can only assume that M Smith’s been taken out of the equation at 10 for whatever reason and they’d want emergency cover in case either Russell or F go down. At the end of the day the guy’s been on 3 tours and who else?

Another factor might be that the leadership group around Itoje - an inexperienced captain - isn’t strong enough. Given this would be contentious, it’s quite probable that Itoje had a voice in this and whatever you think of Farrell’s play, there’s never been a bad word said about him off field and Itoje knows and will trust him.

Adam Beard and Cory Hill's Lions caps just gained a little credibility.

I like Faz but don't know how he'll be able to keep a straight face when quizzed about this. I also like Owen as a bloke but he's miles off a call up. If he gets £100k for this it'll be a travesty.

Definitely planned all along and Sexton was clearly in on it when he said Owen the test match animal would be his starting ten.
