Really looking forward to Battlefield 6,

I skipped 2042 but in general BF is one of my favourite franchises (definitely my favourite shooter) and it looks like this is going back towards their old, tried and true, formula
I still play BF5 quite a lot now, and loved BF1 - both of which are considered poor examples of the genre, so I reckon I'll love BF6 - especially as it's been a while since the last present-day shooter from them

EA execs are on record saying they will have 100 million players.

Leaving aside how ridiculous that number is in isolation, only one EA game has ever broken 50million and I'm not sure there's as much crossover between The Sims and the FPS genre as they seem to hope.

I pay little attention to execs bluster the video game industry is littered with over inflated estimates by them.

I can see a lot of people who play cod moving over to battlefield. Just not sure on the age range of those that will do and if all the cod players that like the gimmicky side of things will move over or not to a more grounded game.

Played a few rounds of the open beta and really enjoying it - especially as they're making up the numbers in servers with bots, which makes you feel really good at the game because they're easy to kill

It's only got the classic capture-the-point game mode in it (can't remember what they call it) and pretty close quarters maps so I'm really looking forward to the full release and some open space/aerial vehicles

Definite early, if not day one, pick up for me

Edit: I'm an idiot, there's actually four game modes in the beta

For any who like city builders, the Anno series is on Steam now at a pretty huge discount. Loved the series right from when I first got Anno 1503

Just decided to hop back in to GTA 5 after a long time away. Still as full of griefers as ever. Anyone else still dabble who might be interested in an invite only lobby?

After over 100 hours of Satisfactory I've switched over to Stronghold Crusader Remastered. Unfortunately from this I realised that my right trackpad has gone completely unresponsive and isn't working, but within 12 hours they've already confirmed they'll do a free in warranty repair of it which will hopefully be all sorted within 2-3 weeks. Really impressed with their customer support on this, with this being a Steam Deck a couple of months under two years old.

Only just seen this... No idea if my account has been transferred to Xbox from PlayStation. Does it have cross progression? I may have created a new character anyway. Lost interest when everything started getting a bit too silly and absolutely noped out once I came back after a break to see flying motorcycles with rocket launchers. I prefer GTA more grounded, leave that other stuff for Saints Row.

As for what I'm playing. About halfway through Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Have Silksong ready to go alongside Black Myth Wukong and Helldivers 2. Unfortunately not had much time as I'd like and when I do the crew tend to drag me on Overwatch 2, which isn't hard as the new season is out and it's pretty good.

Skate (as in Skate 4, but they've just gone with Skate for the title)

I was in the play testing for it and didn't like it at all, but now it's in pre release (think it's out for everyone on the 16th?) I'm having so much fun with it
It's not as good as Skate 1-3, it's a bit cartoony (characters almost Fortnite-esque), free to play so the store is full of micro transactions, rag dolling has been sanitised (no bone break tracking etc.) however for a free game it's very good and definitely scratches an itch
