I don't see England getting tanked and do casuals really watch for that? RFU is losing players on central contracts anyway and clubs are going bust. Gloucester are seeking 'investment' (subsidy) but who would want it?

I guess people are put off by the amount of inbreeding in the area though.

What hope is there of a financial return for your "investment"? Zero it seems. The CVC cash that was propping up clubs accounts as they spread it out of accountancy periods is gone now and all we are left with is the deal that takes a 27-30% cut from future growth.

Maybe more owners like Newcastle who use the club as free advertising and therefore don't have to give that money to CVC will be the way forward but the premiership is now a weird mix of one or two clubs who try to live within their means and are punished for it with people happy to lose millions every year. That's not a healthy place.

Good couple of days for Quins.

Locking down CCS was important on a number of levels. 1) We retain a very good player who has the potential to be excellent. 2) We lack hard carriers and he brings that skill set. 3) Optics. We've gone backwards since our title win and we need to be able to retain big names like CCS if we want to compete and attract players of a similar calibre.

Dun is a good signing. Not flashy but a very capable Prem player who has the kind of qualities we need.

This season is probably a write off already, but if the Argies settle in well and we add Dun and a couple more good signings, we'll be on the up going into 26/27.

Ask him about out the backdoor passes and offloads he said he wasn't going to do but we have scored from this season. He is more of a grafter though, big loss for Bris but luckily we are stacked at lock this season at least. Rubiolo+Batley, Owen on bench for 6/4 cover. Apparently Joe Joyce is out of contract at Connacht this season, might have one eye on a last stint back at home but I know his family want to stay in Galway so who knows?
