Help Support The Rugby Forum:

Tom O'Flaherty has signed a 1yr extension at Sale - happy with that, he can blow hot and cold at times but his form in the second half of this season has been very good, quite often looking like our only good back
Considering the season we've had he's currently 5th on the top try scorer table and only 1 off joint 3rd, and that's without the benefit of playing against Sale like the other wingers!

You can simply say "Kirill"....
...one letter

Wonder if he got any promises about being able to pick Lowe despite being in Japan?

If he sees it out will he be the longest tenured international coach of the pro era? Joint with Gatland?

The hacks are saying that this appointment should be questioned lol

Considering the amount of teams who'd take Faz at the drop of a hat and the blatant lack of quality coaching in the provinces it's the biggest no brainer ever.

England certainly, probably anyone apart from France, SA and NZ if the opportunity arose and was well times woth contracts really. Maybe Oz wouldn't go for an English coach.

Most unions couldn't afford him realistically.
Certainly more of an attractive prospect than the current England, Wales and Scotland head coaches.

All three would take him if they could. The only block would be the push back on being English for the Wales, and Scotland teams.

Honestly, we probably would too. Doubt we would push out our new existing coach for him, but if he had applied when we were looking, he would be more than in the running.

Jean-Luc du Preez has had to retire due to concussion issues

Very sad news :(
And now he's said on Instagram it's not true 🤨

Saw on Reddit that there was another South African player who was told by doctors in Europe to retire but went back to SA and carried on playing for several years more - they framed this as a good thing but....that just sounds concerning

Didn’t that happen with another player and their neck?

Steve Thompson, I think

There was a player who couldn't get signed off in France due to a heart condition but could then play in England, as well - can't remember who though
Virimi Vakatawa is probably who you're thinking of. Ex-France international center, signed to Bris after being denied in France. Big assessments and the like done beforehand. Shame he left, was such a good partnership with BJVR.

Anyhoo, he plays for Fiji Drua now.

“I actually don’t know,” Fineanganofo said when asked about his contract situation. “I’m just leaving it with my agent and I’m still waiting for him to come back to me but I guess he’s doing something good so.”

In other words, ive come back from serious injury where i was nowhere in the AB's sight, but played an absolute blinder of a season and now want to be an AB. The interview was very telling.

If he doesnt want to come fair dos to the lad the AB's must be every lads dream from there. But i dont want him to come if hes not 100% committed. We can look for another winger or preferably a Full back who can actually tackle. We have a decent umber of wingers signed for next season.

At least tbf Virimi wasn't head-knock issues. His was his heart. He has been cleared by a bunch of doctors that it won't affect his playing ability

Will Harrisson to Munster confirmed. If we can keep him fit, I think this could be a really decent signing. One year deal mind you, don't love that. We also haven't had the best look with fitness so he will probably explode when he touches the training pitch.
