I thought young Billy Pasco was supposed to be a real upcoming talent in the centres?
I thought he was as well but we’ve got Dingwall, Hutchinson, litchfield, Thame and then Freeman so his chances are limited. Litchfield has really impressed this season and Thame looks one for the future as well.

There’s going to come a point where I only watch the international game.
I have no interest in clubs / franchises / agencies / whatevers with revolving doors indulging in battles of the wallet. And that’s irrespective of the quality of the rugby, sorry product.
But if that’s the world we now live in, I’m sure the next generation will enjoy it.

Im not gonig to lie, im having trouble buying in to the Falcons / sorry Red Bulls project. Havent got my season ticket for next year yet. Have mixed feelings about it all.

i dont know what it is.
Feels a bit like the identity of the Falcons has gone. Im maybe being a bit hypocritical as the same thing happened when Sir John Hall and Newcastle United bought Newcastle Gosforth and turned them into the falcons and bought the league. But i was a lot younger then and didnt understand as much.
We'll see what happens.

I have the opposite feeling, can't wait for this season to be over and we can start to bring the new lads in.
We are season ticket holders and for years we have attended game both home and away and watched mediocre rugby. I understand why we went down this route, so the club would survive.
We are in a new era and we will forge a new identity as the Newcastle Red Bulls and will be in a position to give the other clubs a game and over the comingbyears start to challenge for titles

How many homegrown players do you expect to be in your first choice 23 next season?
I know when we've gone on big recruitment kicks in the past I've struggled to have the same connection to the side (think it was like 2011 when we signed about 25 players and it was a bit like...who even are these people in a Sale shirt?)

Thats part of the issue, there wont be a huge amount from the get go. BUT theres alot of kids in the academy who have specifically been kept on / resigned so maybe the intention is to get the results quickly and then develop the locals. I know it has been mentioned by Red BUll themsevles that its critical to have locally produced players.
Anyway for the moment we'll see what happens.

To the Scottish contingent on here....theres rumours we may have signed Jake Dalziel, the young Scottish fly half. He’s 17 and was nominated for the U20 Six Nations player of the tournament. 6”5 so looks a tall lad for No.10. His Dad is current Scotland Senior team forwards coach.

Hopefully McCarthy and Boyle come back strongly from their injuries although an achilles is rough.
Chair one of the biggest positives from our season. Stepped up when needed.
Also - does that feeling extend to the league as a whole? or is it just Falcons?
For myself, I'm certainly feeling that way about... domestic rugby (league, Pem Cup & EPCR) recently - and feeling more and more disillusioned with each year, and each new shot in the foot since Covid (starting with the insane expansion of the Champ Cup, and most recently the franchising of the Premiership)
I hope its as a coach...not a starting player.
