All Blacks vs Wallabies, August 7th 2010, Fifth Tri Nations Test

They would only be on for the last 5 or so minutes in a pretty much dead rubber match, i dont see training as being a huge issue here. Added to that these guys are professionals, rugby is what they do. I would see this as a good opportunity to give a young guy a couple of minutes

Unless Weepu got injured in the first minute of the match, in which case it would be 79 minutes.....

Highly unlikely.. but even if that was the case, guys like Fotuaili'i and Smith are natural footballers who play by instinct. I have no doubt that they would be able to figure it out on the fly, they dont need to train with the team to know when to pass and when to run, sure they might have to drop a few set moves that involve the halfback, but in the end it would be for the best.

Giving Andy Ellis more caps is flogging a dead horse, it wont help the All Blacks in the long run at all. Giving a young player a chance will

Why is it highly unlikely that Weepu will get injured?
It really makes me wonder why the AB's even bother with team trainings, as they should all be able to 'pick it up on the fly'! If you seriously think they should bring in Aaron Smith (who has proven absolutely nothing in NZ rugby, and is yet to even play at Super 14 level) for a one off game there is really no point in arguing with you.

Because the chances of any player sustaining an injury are very slim..
All i'm saying is that if you're bringing a single guy in to sit on the bench, the fact that he hasn't been through the whole system isnt a huge deal. Aaron Smith is just a personal favorite of mine, but Fotuaili'i has proven himself in NZ rugby, he has played super 14 rugby with Read and Carter, why not? He is more talented than Ellis, and hes got more to offer NZ rugby in the long term.

Ellis is useless, he doesnt have a running game, his service is laboured, he has average defence and a mediocre kicking game. So why keep giving him All Blacks caps? The trinations is all but sewn up at this point, there is nothing to lose by giving a younger player a go and there is nothing to gain by persisting with a middle of the road player. Btw, im not arguing, i thought we were just having a discussion, settle it down.

Well that was a surprise Kapo o pango not Ka'mate..... seems like the AB's rate this game rather more highly than expected..... I think I will revise my score upwards .... AB's by 20+ and possibly to crack 50 points.

ok a 20+ point game with 50 on the AB side aint gonna happen, I still say they will win, but so will Rugby, what a great game so far, congrats to both the AB's and Wallabies for such an absorbing display.

This game is as close as I thought it would be.

What do ya think of that Pocock v McCaw, definitely experience in play there eh, Pocok a really good player, and I would even say he would replace McCaw as the best 7 in the world later on.

Pococks my favorite Wallaby, and one of my favorite players, he's immense. I remember in the autumn internationals last year, in the BaaBaas match, he made a big hit, the player offloaded, and he managed to hit the guy who recieved the ball as well. His workrate is quality
