Some old article, almost a year old actually:
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=10805524

P.S.: you've GOT to absolutely adore kiwi bias or at least the sort of turns of phrase they'll allow on official journalism: "The French are up to their old tricks", as if we did this on purpose and loved doing it and didn't give a darn about test matches
Nah but I get the concern, it's just the same thing that corrupts this entire world; MONEH MONEH MONEHHH and that fkn Top14; not the FFR (national side).

Anyone think they're (France) getting crushed the first test ?? I don't think so personally...

NZ HArold you did not expect we love the French etc etc in it. And they do have a point. France did it before is doing it again and is robbing the NZ rugby public of a great series possibly. You did it against Argentina and got beaten by a Puma B team. The AB is going to murder them. And I hope they do it cause that is what you deserve sending stringers to do the job of the best XV.

In New Zealand we do respect the French a lot - a lot more than the other NH teams. I think it is natural to be annoyed that the French aren't sending their best team - we just want to see high quality rugby. I don't think anyone in NZ would put it past the French to win one of the three games. You will have to play a lot better than you did in the 6 Nations though. You should probably hope Toulon makes the final and Michalak won't be playing.

...........................and that fkn Top14; not the FFR (national side).............

Without the Top 14......there would be no National team.

Indeed, to many, many supporters, whilst they really want their national teams to do well, it is the weekly involvement with their clubs that is paramount not the vicarious Internationals that you probably cannot get tickets, and would have to pay through the nose, for!

Is there a lot of annoyance in France that all French games are played in Paris. Would someone from Biarritz take a weekend to Paris to watch France? The one home stadium makes sense to me for countries like Wales, Ireland and Scotland but would only annoy me if I was French or English.

The scrum-half Maxime Machenaud is slow and doesn’t create anything. Frederik Michalak is not Renaissance Man. The creativity has been coached out of the team. French flair is a fairytale that is never coming back.

why the hell would it 'never' come back ?! I think we've seen glimpses of it just recently ! No need to get all poetic with big words like 'NEVER', we just suck horribly atm for many different reasons, eventually we'll find our game and start beating the big ones again.

William: and how do you think we feel ?! it's basically the reason, if you'd want to get historical about it, why we lost Canada and to the English. Our ruler at the time said smt like "we're not sending troops there for a handful of snow". I think it's very French to not take certain situations seriously, and consequently lose influence/power in certain fields because of that. No matter how exhausted at the end of a Pool, England would never allow for Tonga to win, unless Tonga were just a better team, which Tonga wasn't against France obviously or would've been against England that 2011 RWC.
I think it's a culture we haven't shown often, and that is contrary to our identity unfortunately: obviously our 'inconsistency' has causes and roots, it isn't just consistency, just out of thin air, just for the fk of it. And that's one of it.
We won't be nearly fresh, we'll be missing certain guys and the sad thing is - I'm not hiding behind this, I'm just sayin - the sad thing is sometimes all it takes is an inspired and accurate Michalak to lead a match and see France victorious. Unfortunately, some players can really change the complexion and anatomy and rhythm of a match considerably, just one guy; and we may simply be without 'that guy' on the day, or 'he' may be present but completely hammered by recent, intense battles.
And then there's our coaching problem. Who the fk knows where that's at.

Allow? its an opinion piece and opinions aren't regulated....in Nz at least

also, are you so hungry for a firght you want to bring up articles from a year ago?

Am going to the third test in this series. Hopefully to see a full strength French team do battle with a full strength NZ team.

Take it easy bro, yoga helps....a bit.

OH YEAH ?!!! ...ahemm...sorry I mean...oh yeah ? Ah...that's awesome, you're a lucky fella.

They seem to manage to fill the Stade de France for every international and, like the English going to Twickers, it is a tradition to go to the capital for a weekend of rugby and fun! I can remember watching internationals in Paris on TV with the bands from Dax and other areas around here in full flow.

These weekend trips have been somewhat tainted by the pandering to TV with strange days and times of kick off but for every one of those that do not go because of it, there are more that are ready to pick up their tickets.

As for Biarritz people being annoyed, Blanco was and is heavily involved on the committee overseeing the selection of the site and building the new stadium just outside Orly airport......whence most of the flights to Biarritz depart and arrive! Coincidence?

France do play matches outside Paris in November. That is more than England do to spread the game around the country.

Agree that French flair has died out steadily ever since the 1999 World Cup which was the last real time of a French flair side. Since then there is just a few glimpses, and there are barely any of those any more either.

Disagree about Machenaud, he is a good player, and does well for Racing-Métro and previously Agen, and also he does have a good eye for a gap and create tries. He is better at that aspect of the game than Parra actually.

fight as in argument  and yeah, you've dragged up an article fom a year ago for no other reason than to have a go at NZ, you make the pint of saying "Kiwi bias" not "this reporters bias" or anything of the sort

'fight as in argue', yes I got that

Ok, lemme be completely literal and flat here: dude the intention was so far from quarrelsome, I just found it hilarious anyone would see it that way, says a lot about the initial mindset, again !
I say innocent article about exciting and imminent matchup, you see 'oh so he's stirrin up that old **** huh ?!! HUH ??!!'

Psychic Duck:
I don't think I'm being overly enthusiastic if I say there is a certain quality about the French attack during the 2000's that is at very least reminiscent of French Flair...I was doing this project of watching the most 6N (as in 2000 and forth) France matches and collecting the tries to make some compilation one day and I must admit, they're just different from the other nations in the NH...
I'm srs saying this as a fan of Rugby, neutrally. I'd be anything else I'd say this as well.

If the current NZ super rugby teams are any indication; the ABs will threaten the line numerous times, but ultimately fumble the ball and give away tons of penalties - resulting in French wins.

/justsayin

In saying that, there was no point in bringing up a year old article, especially not to reference this year's upcoming clashes.

Rubbish, your first two statments are about the "same old article" and the bias kiwi attitude, nothing about the game at all  i should know better than to feed a troll

article's about some interesting points I felt like sharing with the forum. And that's that, I'm not gonna justify this thread any further lol, some interesting and very significant notions for the 3 tests to come, came across it, shared it here...bottom line.
I get called a troll even  good stuff.
