You can't really read too much into the warm up games due to them not being full strength and the amount of travelling the Lions squad has had to do. The game against the invitational side was really disappointing all round. I think Ben Earl came out of it with a lot of credit, while AUSNZ were turd he did a pile of carrying into some big bodied international back rowers.

So what's the point in having warm up games if (as you wrote) "you can't really read too much into the warm up games" and your mind is already set ?

I think if Farrell does go with Chessum or Beirne at 6 for the first test it kind of makes a mockery of his own selections taking that many 7's and no real 6's so I won't be surprised to see a back row of two 7's and Conan at 8.

So three big lumps, who are slow are fk, can't line break for sh*t, but they run into brick walls and punch holes, you only need one player like that in your back row and that should be Morgan the other two should be Earl and Pollock.

Yes it's not the safe option, but I simply can't ignore what they did on Saturday to nil AUS/NZ

Am is an outside centre. South Africa replaced Kwagga Smith, who is fast and dynamic, with 120kg Jasper Wiese in the second and third tests.

Every elite rugby team in the world has at least two strong tight carriers in their backrow.

Think I just would've done a Celtic tour of the ex colonies where we leave all the Sais at home and the Irish, Welsh and Scots can go around liberating our oppressed cousins from the shackles of empire to come back home and obliterate the English.

Can't remember who said it but over three tests around 30-32 different players are likely to feature due to injuries, form, etc. and so while there will be disappointment for those who miss out on Saturday there is plenty of reason to stay hungry and focussed.
