1st test - Australia v British & Irish Lions

I hate to admit this but I think my favourite back row in this squad is Pollock and I feel his age has hindered his selection when he is just such an incredible player (especially as a bench option)

Feel like you miss the point.

Let's take one of the first 'big hits'. It knocked the player back so that the supporting Australian players weren't in position and then allowed Beirne to get over the ball and win the penalty. Without Curry, Beirne doesn't make the turn over. These big hits also slow down and disrupt the attack etc...
This is rewriting history. The big hit came several phases of play before the turnover when the player Curry hit was back on his feet and contributing

Don't mention his name around the Scots. He grew up in Scotland and ditched them for the English. I'm sure AlRums will claim he's only good cos the Scots made him

It's nice to see players who don't make the grade for their preferred nation still being able to go on to have a successful career for their back-up option.

Did he? I didn't know that. I like him less now.
He didn't, he was born and raised in England. His parents are Scottish but are at a level of posh that transcends borders, they're just aristocracy - probably never heard a Scottish accent that wasn't on TV

That's the thing with the Scots. They give it the biggen but they're just English basically. Welsh people never accumulated enough wealth or power for that to ever happen to us. We're the real winners.

Are you sure about that? Despite claims from multiple Scots on Twitter that Pollock is Scottish and poached by England wikipedia has him as born in England, schooled in England, at Northampton Saints academy from U13s, and captained Saints U18s.

I was mistaken but he did admit in an interview to supporting Scotland with his patriotic Scottish dad when growing up, and he is Scottish-qualified. So I'm surprised the Scots don't see him as a traitor

Which is a very different thing from

I thought Pollock and Fin Smith both had Scottish parents but were born and raised in England. That makes them English with Scottish heritage in my book. Pollock is a Scottish name for sure as I know a few Pollocks.

Their parents were probably lured south of border by Jacob Rees Mogg, the swine.

I know. I was mistaken. I listened to rumours before research it. But I am surprised the Scottish still don't like it. Akin to the Welsh being upset of Huw Jones

Honestly, I haven’t met a single Welsh person who moans abut Huw Jones. If it wasn’t for his name no one would even make the assumption he was Welsh qualified.

At least he admitted he was wrong. A rare quality in internet discourse.

Personally, as is the way of the internet, I have chosen to believe the first piece of info I come across so I think you’re all wrong and @Dean Cooperfield-West is correct.

I feel we're on the same side here as ultimately I too think Morgan should've started (and would've done a better job than Curry)

I honestly don’t give that much of a **** to be honest. Even if he started it’s embarrassing we only have 1 in the side so there being none is a much of muchness to me.

You’re fighting the good fight though, mate.
