Right now with the IOC in town - it's all over the news. I'd love it if we got the games here - it'd be bloody brilliant. Paris will have old facilities by then and I can't see it being anything special there. I think we can have a great games in a great city, with many of the landmarks apparantely set to be used for various events.

Come on LONDON!

I honestly think London have the best chance now that New York have had problems occured, Paris will have old facilities like you have already said.
Moscow dont stand much chance and Madrid wont get it cos Barcellona had it several years ago.

Am I the only person in the UK who doesn't want the Olympics to come to London?

I'd be surprised if it's anyone else but Paris.

Same can be said for Paris, and their landmarks are better.

Because 90% of the UK couldn't care about athletics, Blair and his cronies are just using the bid as a publicity stunt before the election this year, it's gonna cost the tax payers from ALL OF THE UK a fortune to only benefit LONDON...

A selection of the many reasons I don't like the idea.

Paris. Yeah, sure, why not?

London -- I might move back to London at some point and ya'll got enough taxes. You're not going to lose your identity if you don't have it. You're London and you think you're better than the rest of the world as it is, Olympics or not -- and that's why I love you.

New York -- yeeeeaaah right. When I think of the Olympics, I think of New York. How is this even a possibility? Who's the idiot that suggested this? New York? Are you out of your tiny mind? New York?

Madrid -- Barcelona is still fresh in the mind. So is that song by Freddie Mercury and that Monsterraaaat chick. BarcelOOOOooNA! No. Plus, Madrid doesn't rhyme with anything.

Moscow -- maybe. I really like 'Back in the USSR' by the Beatles.

I would like London to get it, because it means everyone will get over-excited again like at the Commonwealth games in Manchester. I could see it going to Paris though.

Where does New Zealand usually finish at the Commenwealth games? Melbourne will be huge, they have the facilities to host the 2012 Olympics.
