I knw Mohoje doesn't make a lot of mistakes (okay so he slipped going in to make ~3 tackles but at times it felt like he was the only one looking to go make tackles rather than wait for it) but my major gripe was his lack of impact but he stepped up his workrate and I commend him for that. Until that time I am happy enough to let Mohoje have a go if he can keep up the good work. When he is fit again I would like to see if only as an experiment a line-up of Kriel, Coetzee and Whiteley. Maybe have a try with Goose at 10 and Jesse Kriel at 15 just for the sake of having a look and developing options past Le Roux at 15? Jantjies might do better off the bench as well?
My thoughts on the game; How is this Pumas side not performing like this for the Jaguares? Does the backroom setup and/or jersey make that much of a difference? I am happy with our scrum dominance though its not totally unexpected with Ayerza being unavailable to the Pumas and the form of our tighteads during SR. Think Koch put to bed the gremlins of that game in Argentina where Ayerza (illegally I have to add) tore him apart two years ago and where Heynecke Meyer didn't have the balls/nouse to recognize it wasn't the player's fault and didn't show faith Koch from then on. On the scrum/ tight 5 its fair to say Mtawarira, Strauss and De Jager are there ahead of Kitshoff, Marx and PSdT only because of being default selections certainly not on form. I think we all knew this going in and it showed. Same with Louw vs Kriel but I am happy to say Mohoje stepped up. I was not impressed with his and Louw's selection ahead of Kriel. I still feel we need more at blindside though but the options are all either overseas and at the wrong end of their carreers (Smith and Alberts) or upcoming and yet to prove themselves in SR (Mohoje, JL du Preez, Ackermann, Kirsten). Until that time I am happy enough to let Mohoje have a go if he can keep up the good work. When he is fit again I would like to see if only as an experiment a line-up of Kriel, Coetzee and Whiteley. I think because both Kriel and Coetzee are able carriers f the ball it shouldn't hurt us to run with two opensides? Faf is our MVP just because it drops off from there since it looks like Hougaard is out of favor? I do think we can get huge value from Hougie though at either 11 or on the bench. Jantjies and Goosen were a mixed bag but I am happy enough considering Jantjies is the only man standing and Goosen isn't Le Roux. Maybe have a try with Goose at 10 and Jesse Kriel at 15 just for the sake of having a look and developing options past Le Roux at 15? Jantjies might do better off the bench as well? Maybe even have Hougaard on the wing and give Combrinck a run at 15? Our midfield is horrible. Off form and unbalanced. We all knew this going in I suppose. Hope AC has it in him to work on this. We are all going to get slaughtered by the ABs. I don't think they are so much a step up but rather we all are a step down. How good was Barret?! Maybe if we can put him under pressure and be more urgent (and clinical) we might have a chance. Big maybe and might though.
