Are some All Black matches fixed?

...I was thinking the other day about how history would have seen Fitzpatrick and a number of other prominent AB's in a lesser light had they dropped the AB's and gone to play in Kerry Packers World League rugby crap comp. In the end rugby turned professional so Fitzy and co did not need to make the switch for the cash.

Yet to think they were considering it.....as in a lot of them were considering it.

Have games been "fixed" by the AB's you begin to wonder.

Money is a major part of a players career. You only have to look at Tana Umaga who saud he was retiring from Test match rugby to "spend more time with the family." Next thing you know Tana is taking a summer season in France for cash instaed of a homely Christmas and makes it back just in time for a break???? No....just in time for pre season Hurricanes games lol!

Now to my point

14 August 2004 South Africa Johannesburg, Ellis Park

New Zealand 26 - South Africa 40

Watching Tana during this game was puzzling. He did not seem himself and was missing some tackles...getting bumped off and all sorts.

However the most significant part in the game was when in the first half with the game evenly balanced.....De Villiers or some guy gets the ball and runs a few steps with the try line about 5 metres away. Tana comes to tackle him....and misses......the Springboks score.

When you watch the replay you have to wonder....honestly....how could Tana have missed such an EASY tackle. There was no sidestep no fend no bumpoff no change in direction no sudden acceleration. The tackle was from the side and Tana could not have had it presented to him any easier.

Another factor to consider was that Tana did not turbo into the guy at speed....because if he did then there is a chance that you could say that the guy was strong enough to hold his ground and Tana simply fell back from tjhe collision. Yet this is not the case at all.

Tana simply wrapped his arms around the guys waist...the easiest tackle you can make and there was no resistance either way.

Then Tanas arms strangely fell off and the surprised and jubilant Springbok scores.

For those who play rugby...we all watched and thought "Mate the worse guy in our club could have made that tackle"

So the question is....what really happened that day in that corner of the field?

When we watch the last Tri Nations game between the Springboks and the AB's.....the odds for the Boks winning were huge...a huge payout if someone beted on them.

Sooialo out of the blue unprovoked "pushes" a Springbok guy near a ruck. Penalty then victory for SA.

We are left wondering...."why".....why would a team as good as the AB's do something like that? Why would Sooialo do something like that which would cost us the game.

Also interesting to note that Sooialo also threw an intercept pass to Habana. We won't even go on about the try that was disallowed cos Sooialo was taking a guy out at a ruck in front of the S.A post.

Some things in rugby do make you wonder.

yes they are rigged IMO

everytime you win against the Wallabies, the ARU has a motza on the AB's :bleh!:

but like most things in sport...freak things happen and left with unsolved questions

there was an Ashes TEST a while back (1980's) and aussie were wininng...smashing........

not sure what the exact details are but i'll give you the gist..assumption of the ease of victory forthcoming

needed 3 wickets on last day to win.....
England needed 300 runs or something to win....
Aussies were $1.04 to win
Eng were $25.00 to win
Ian Botham slogged a killer of a knock, and england got up to win
Dennis Lillie was questioned whether anyone in the aussie camp a few quid on the poms to comeback n win
Lillie replies - why would we put only a FEW quid on Eng...if we were going to throw the match, we would have put thousands of quid on them.
End of Story

Makes u think doesnt it

becuase believe it or not, the allblacks are HUMAN BEINGS.

They can and for all intents and purposes, will make mistakes, that's what humans do.

people need to stop seeing the allblacks as some unbeatable force and their players as these unstoppable machines.

But of course some of those games are rigged- obviously the World Cup semi-final vs. Australia in 1991 was rigged- the match was played on a Sunday, in order to eliminate Michael Jones from the equation. Damn those blokes at the IRB.......

Then of course the 1995 RWC final was rigged- right down to Suzie the waittress ensuring some food-poisoning for the final!

The 1999 semi vs. France was obviously alsso rigged- apparently the referee was bribed to ignore the Froggies rucking some AB testicles.

And then, lastly, the 2003 semi-final vs. Aus was also rigged- I can`t remember exactly how, maybe something to do with Larkham being born on the wrong side of the Tasman sea?

Or maybe the All Blacks are just human after all, capable of making the odd mistake and missed tackle, of getting the odd moment of brain-freeze (Soi`alo last year) and missing the odd conversion. Who knows, but the plot thickens...........

I still say Umaga deliberately fell off that tackle. Watch the game again and see....

to say that AB matches are fixed is the biggest **** load of f*** since cal beat stanford in '82 or george bush being voted president

Oh Well, there goes conspiracy theory #2.

Did any of you catch the Rugby World Cup 2003 Final? There was this final kick by this player named J. Wilkenson (or something). Long story short, he makes it and England win. Since then the dude who kicked the ball hasn't played a full season of Rugby or even put on his national shirt.
Rumour has it the whole thing was rigged by Steven Spielberg and David Copperfield. It was done with fishing line and mirrors.
