guys and girls or whoever may be able to help,

ok first of all, i have trials for my province (connaught) at the weekend and decided i needed new boots so i went to the local sports outlet and bought myself boots, and after one training session with my local club i remembered that a problem may crop up with them as they are metal blades,

so without having to change a brand new pair of adidas predators does anyone know of and easy sollution or can i replace adidas predators blades or is a problem going to arise atall????

regards j.c

are they multicog? as in they have a slightly rounded bit and then they come out in a point? if so you should be grand in them from 6-15 dont know any tight five who have played in them though

thanks for the help mate, well i had cantebury rugby boots but found them extremely heavy, so that was my reason to change to predators, as they're a nice light boot,

but one slight problem i do play number 1, so i dont know whether an issue will crop up with my boots, anymore replies would really help, thanks

regards j.c

As far as I'm aware, metal blades are fine.
I've been playing in non-rugby Predators for the past season and a half and have had no problem with them, and as far as I can tell there's no difference between the blades on mine, and on the rugby-specific ones

Thanks a million Olyy as thats much more reassuring and the pictures are extremely helpful, because the last thing i would want to do now is change boots because predators are absolutely fabulous boots

Disgracful boots for a prop! ;)

Seriously though, for scrummaging and mauling and the like proper studs would be way better, you dont want to be sliding around the place like!

I use the Canterbury stampede club boots even though i'm a back. They are comfortable and strong. To be honest although the studs may cause a bit of slipping it shouldn't cause to much trouble and if you feel comfortable in them and you are a decent prop you should be fine anyway. I hope you do well at the trial Connacht need all the talent they can get.

Thanks a million for such possitive replies lads,

Lucky number 7: the trials are for youths as there isnt enough potential to even get seen through our schools rugby as other sports are priority in the school

Durbutter: Ok, yes mate i do seriously agree with you about them not being the very best boots for scrumming, but there the most comfertable boots in my opinion and i do tend to keep my stance quiet firm and if connaught have a healthy pack atall i should be perfect.

Coonor: Thanks a million, nd ya i find my boots fierce comfertable so unless a problem arises, which it shouldnt with the feedback i have gotten, nd ya they do need new talent coming through but are much better than i've seen them in recent years

Thanks for all the comments guys

Advice for the night before the trial is remember that they are looking for how well you work with a new bunch of players , don't try play as a one man army offload to men outside , and through youths there was a huge emphasis on tackling about 2 years ago..thats as much as I can help I'm afraid best of luck :)
