British and Irish Lions v Argentina

Makes sense not to play the lads from the final

Although makes JVP call up to the practice more odd

Honestly I fancy Argentina here

Farrell has picked more Munster players than Leinster players to start, proof of the IRFU Leinster conspiracy.

A sore one for any Leinster fan who shelled out €190 to be supporting nine Englishmen, two Connacht and one Munster.

I'm well on the way to an FT subscription having saved on this and £65 for the squad announcement at the O2.

Looking forward to watching England and a few interlopers play Argentina.

Anything much to read into this? Probably not although the locks and centres might be possible test combinations.

It's basically the mid week team with a few exceptions

The bench has a bit of a midweek look.

But in that starting pack I could probably see up to 6 in a test 23. Similarly for the backs although they're a lot more fluid in my book.

Good team.

I don't think I've seen Tuipulotu play much 13 at international level, while Aki has so not sure on the reasoning behind that as Tuipulotu seeks to have a really well rounded game i.e. big enough to truck it up but good hands and distribution too.

MS starting at fullback, you're leaving yourself vulnerable airelly, DvM has never struck me as someone great in the air which leaves Freeman having to cover in the backfield more often I expect. Daily is a good bench option covering a number of positions but think I'd start him and have MS on the bench.

Some club combos will help but I'm surprised Lions are favourites.

Expecting this to be a fairly shite game on and off the pitch. I could have got tickets, but they were a rip off for what this is really, will be a very corporate crowd, and I think there will be some empty seats as a result, even if it technically sells out. The team is not particularly balanced imo, I think they'll be pretty loose and error strewn, even for a Lions team assembling for the first time. In theory it's an exciting backline though in terms of running threats.

Recently they've been putting their English commentary games on youtube - imagine it's to get around their licensing agreement
"You can have this game but you can only put it on S4C in Welsh language", without explicitly ruling out streaming in English, as they used to only be able to show Wales game in Welsh only (they blocked them from doing otherwise because....Sky? had the full rights to the AIs and Summer Tours, something like that)

Ah, got excited then thinking they'd have them all live but it's just the first game live and highlights for the rest
Welsh and English commentary will be available on the Lions v Argentina match in Dublin on S4C. Welsh commentary is also available on highlights programmes.

Nice
