They were creaming themselves about two defenders being taken out by the wheeled scrum but Newcastle had them numbered up

Wonder if he thought Burns might have been further back. However that doesn't make much sense if you have all your backs behind the scrum as there is only so far they can get.

Not sure on exact circumstances but before the game they were saying that they aren't registered for challenge cup some reason.

Yeah some very poor decision and I agree with the pundits. If you give a penalty in those situations you should give a card too. Granted they shouldn't have been penalties in the first place, but it does show inconsistency.
