Changing team names

I managed to change team names by editing the xml file. I'll correct all team names (ie Edinburgh are now the Edinburgh Gunners and Llanelli are now the Llanelli Scarlets).

I also noticed the xml file there were entries for the Borders and Connacht. So is there a way to 'unlock' these teams?

Could it be possible to tell us how you do ? I Would like to put Aviron Bayonnais in place of a team in the game...

Well you get a xml editor, look for the team's name you want to change and then change it. The entry should read (this is an example) - (teamname="Edinburgh"). You change that to what ever you want.

On the connact and border issue, is purely the names but no other files etc?

They might become representative teams or something similar.

Well the lines are 'incomplete'...IE they don't have all the info that other teams do. I'm going to try something with them later. Perhaps overwrite the Italian sides if I can't add them all on their own.

Maybe there should be a stickly " How to 2006" thread that when someone has managed to ammend something in the game ie logos, team names, kits, players names, stats etc
they could write a how to and they could all be kept together.

Is it me or at the moment is everything all over the place ?

A sticky with links to all the downloads like last year would be nice, because new stuff has a tendency to disappear from the first page after a couple of days.

Or maybe a web page, but since the rugby forum is the cradle of it all, it should remain here (IMO).

I have already edied the xml file to change names and have found out that you cannot have names over 14 characters (including a space) in total. If you do, the team names overlap over other team names, so you cannot have names like Edinburgh Gunners.

If you play a tournament, go to standings. Teams with long names overlap other team names.

by the looks of the xml there are a few good unlocks to be had e.g. northstars, super 12 stars, world stars etc. anyone any idea how to get these?
