Dino Cáceres has been banned for two years for his cheapshot on an opposing players during a rugby game in Argentina.

Thuggish , very much so.

Long ban is deserved but 2 years is a looong time Considering you'll see shots like this regularly enough in lower leagues albeit without the necessity for an Ambulance.

I believe the need for an ambulance played a role in the long ban

These are my sentiments so far as well but I'm not too familiar with Caceres' discipline record, perhaps a history of problems led into the ruling.
