I got wondering, do you think many rugby players find themselves on here, seeing what people write about them?

It might be through googling their own name (I'm sure many people on here have done that!), or just by searching for rugby-related forums (I think I found this forum by googling rugby + forum together, after all).

Certain players get a lot of stick on here, especially internationals who aren't deemed to be good enough for the stage. So:

1. Would it concern you if players that you've given stick to on here have read it?
2. If you knew which players came on here, would you moderate your own messages about these players?
3. Do you think players come on forums, and in particular this one?

I got thinking about this because I know for a fact that the Gloucester CEO is a frequent reader of the unofficial Glos forum. He frequently tweets in relation to some of the posts made on there. If a CEO does it, maybe players do it as well?

Just in case Cudmore reads this forum, you are my favorite player ever at to Jebb Sinclaire, sorry that I said your sister is HOT.

Did the players ever get criticised on there, and defend themselves or something?

In that case, I'm Tom Biggs. :p
Yes, especially if they are Irish.
Possibly, but not known as their usernames aren't exactly Hairbear1 etc.
Mostly just hearsay, they probably lurk or at least have done. Only personality I can say is on there (or was) is David Moffett, who was featured on BBC sport or something for comments on Gwlad, so evidently journalists lurk. Also spotted a few TRF members there!

I'm declan kidney and I'm in tears everytime i come on this forum :(

I'm actually mirco bergamasco

But j'nuh very good thread, I think about that kinda stuff often and it's cool to see someone else articulate them and actually make a thread.
Yes I've googled my name before :p
It's true, I *would* moderate my comments a little, but I don't think I call too many players names or if I do I don't mean it really.
But let's take Michalak for example: it would be uncomfortable (and hilarious) if he came on these forums. I'd have trouble saying things like "he seems useless" but I wouldn't feel bad saying smt like "I think he's done now".
All in all, I wouldn't change too much, no.

And yes, SURELY at least *some* players if not many many many check out forums. Especially one called "THE RUGBY FORUM", I mean that's how I got here. I thought with a name like that, this should be the shyt. How wrong I was...lured me into this shythole forever, and before I knew it t'was too late I had invested 1000posts already :D

I'm actually Bryce Lawrence.

COME AT ME HEINEKEN!

Now, see...if you had said Mark Lawrence, I would have been all over you like white on rice.

It would surprise me...not many years ago, I was an avid competitor in Judo, wrestling and every grappling rules tournament.

Sometimes I did see my fights being recorded at the mat's side and made some research all over the web, finding out some forums which the competition I fought in was uploaded on them. Well, great...let's check my mistakes and assets, I thought.

Not the best of the ideas...reading a bunch of keyboard warriors and that kind of internet tough guys bashing me when I lost or writing I got lucky when winning is something I didn't like, just for the lack of respect. If at least they had been constructive critics...

I don't say this is the place where players are the target of never achievers and that kind of stuff, by the way. Just that players shouldn't be keeping their eyes on what is said of them because that could affect their performances.

It's an interesting question and one I've thought about before. I wouldn't think they'd go on an international forum like this but more likely more national forums or team forums.

I've looked on boards.ie to see comments about my school team it's a weird feeling to see it.

Draggs nice way to get the mandatory Irish dig in. :)

Calm down mate, I was saying that they are very harsh on the Irish there. Should have been on their during the Lions tour.
