England vs Australia - 01/11/25

I’m looking forward to this one. The Aussies are getting themselves back in form although they apparently struggled in Japan?) and England look to be building something with a whole lot of potential. So many dangerous attacking wings in the side in not sure how they are going to find space for them all. Lots of talk of Freeman coming in at 13. Mighty temping to have a back line of Lawrence, Freeman, IFW, Murley with Arundell at 15.

I suspect we will see something a little more conservative though. Guessing

13. Slade
14. IFW
15. Arundell (hoping) Steward more likely

Fin Smith likely to be the bench 10, suspect M Smith may get the “utility” back spot, and Spencer as 9 cover.

Can’t see Calori getting a look in at any point during the series. Seems to have been rushed in, and I’m not sure it was necessary. Maybe give the lad a little time in the prem first, potentially a bit of England A?

Anyway, feels like we should have a decent showing and got to be favourites?

Feel like 6/2 would be a waste in this game with the lads on offer in the backs. I think we already know what we can do with our big lads. Testing out our ability with ball in hand would be more productive use of time. Agree that it would seem odd to all the 10s in at once, and that case surely it has to be M Smith on the bench with Spencer and one other, given his ability to cover more positions? Also I just think he brings more in terms of difference and ability to change games late in the day. Of course there is the relationship between Freeman and F Smith which may sway things?

I’d be surprised if Freeman is run out at 13 for this game. Seems more likely to go with a more settled centre pairing hence Slade and Lawrence, or maybe Lawrence and Ojomoh? Not sure Dingwall has really stood out enough so far in England colours.

Expecting big things from the pack whoever gets the nod. They’re a very decent bunch of lads.

Don't get how Borthwick bangs on about cohesion and partnerships. Then drops two centres, Marcus as full back and 10 cover. Has Saints at 9, 12, 13 and drops Fin to the bench.

Looks like Pollock is are wing and 12, 13, 15 cover then.
