Tom Biggs would make an ideal England left-winger. A massive fan favourite at Bath he can really load the pressure on opposition full-backs. He is such a strong runner and usually is caught isolated without support at Bath (one problem with Baths current setup)

I agree. I really like what I see in Biggs. Not just his ability to score, but he's quite fearless in the tackle. He didn't play this weekend, though - is he injured?

Quite like Thompstone personally. Could potentially be a good foil for someone like Wade. In theory it would provide a good balance of pace and power in the back 3. On the other hand, he doesn't have the same ability to conjure something from nothing like a player such as Jonny May.

I'd have him and May as my starting wingers in Argentina, with Brown at FB.
Its almost a shame that england have switched their love in with Tigers to Sarries as were more likely to see Strettle and Ashton as our wingers.

Im a massive fan of Thompstone too - cant remember if it was this thread or another that I was singing his praises.
I'd have him and May as my starting wingers in Argentina, with Brown at FB.
Its almost a shame that england have switched their love in with Tigers to Sarries as were more likely to see Strettle and Ashton as our wingers.

What really worries me about English rugby is our obsession with the Sarrries and their style of play. In addition to that i don't know if anyone read the rugby paper at the weekend but the Saxons coach was interviewed and said that the premership teams in Europe didn't do well becasue they over played and shouldf play more like Sarecans!!!! I also died when i read that!

We are not South Africa and don't have or even don't pick a set of beastly forwards so the Sarries style of play wil never work with us!

If the egnlish coashes actually think that strettle and ashton really are the best wings we have available we are in trouble!

To right, Varndell not an option, can run up the side like a greyhound ok but has the same tackle prowess. Wade and Thompstone do it for me. Or. Banahan if he is fit and on form. Just need a good shake up on the back line, this one dont work.
