Ok, what you have here is a classic case of journalistic distortion of words. What Hibbard actually says, as opposed to what the headline suggests, is "we were physical, we battered them for 60 minutes and that was the end of it, they couldn't survive after that. We have to bring that ferocity again." So he never actually says anywhere that Wales will "batter the Wallabies". He is recounting the course of events in that final Lions test, and I have to say he's pretty spot on tbh. The Lions did batter Australia's defense for a good portion of that match, which is one of the reasons they were able to win by such a high margin (you are more than welcome to watch the highlights and try and argue against me on that one). Also, later in the same interview Hibbard goes on to compliment the Wallabies. He says "they played well in the Championship and seem a different team over here, their confidence is high. It will be a tough one, probably the toughest of the last four years." He also compliments how their scrum has improved and how their pack is definitely not weak. So in all, how on earth can that be classed as "bigging Wales up"??? To me, it's mainly just the Australian media stirring the pot and distorting what players have said.
