Kinda old news, but thought i'd pop it up here to see what people think of the impact it might have.

Shaggy Injured his knee and will need at least a 4 week rest - cutting it close, but that gives him a chance for the Georgia game..

Tommy Bowe could get a reprieve and get his chance after all. Disaster!! - Bowe is a complete mess!

Even if Horgan does miss out Bowe will only take his place in the squad, it'll be a toss up between Murphy and Trimble for the starting spot. I'd go with Murphy because even though he has defensive problems his attacking play is sharper than Trimble's who has his own defensive issues.

True - if you're down with 10 minutes to go in a game, who would you look to to produce something out of the ordinary, Trimble or Murphy.

Horgan is much more solid than those to for the first 60 minutes though. He finishes things off, the other two don't as consistently, or haven't for Ireland. Also the fact that he plays with BOD and D'Arcy would have made a big difference given Eddie's lack of tactical knowledge, know-how, skill, etc.

Is Horgan's knee the same one he did in the 6N?

Carney.

What if you were up against the ABs with ten minutes to go, who would make you **** yourself with fear: Murphy/Trimble/Carney?

Let's see Trimble at 13 and Carney at 14 for the Italy match.

Dunno if it's the same leg, but a different injury.
Six nations was a cartilage tear (meniscus) and this is the MCL.
