Currently 11-0 to the Hurricanes after two early penalties to Willie Ripia and a try to Michael Paterson.

The Lions are really entertaining on attack but the Hurricanes are tackling hard.

Penalty to the Lions now; they used the advantage well there, they're really attacking.

Spencer kicks for a line-out and the Lions maul it to the line and score through Derek Minnie. Earl Rose converts beautifully, 11-7.

Now another penalty attempt for Ripia after Clever is caught off-side as Eaton is replaced due to injury.

Ripia nails it and it's 14-7 to the Hurricanes with less than 10 minutes left in the half.

The Hurricanes opt for a scrum from a penalty inside the 22 of the Lions.

Weepu fights his way under the posts and scores. 21-7 after Ripia nails the conversion and the players leave the field to signal the end of the first half.
