So it's a week late and a different country but better late than never.

Mumbai taking on Chennai in the first match at Capetown.

Surprised not to see Napier in the Mumbai side given his form last season for Essex.

a dog has stopped play at Capetown quite embarrassing really how they've not been able to catch it.

Fark that was hilarious them trying to catch that dog. They tried food and diving for it but no luck. Pretty slack security...

FMD is the IPL really being played in South Africa. Sounds like a farce.[/b]

well it's all down to the Indian government not being in the position to provide adequate security because of elections which are taking place at the same time, lord knows how they'll cope with the Commonwealth games next year.

Not overly farcical if you consider how quick the IPL organising committee reacted and were able to move the tournament to SA in such quick time.

The dog was farcical though!

De Villers in awesome form in Durban for the Delhi Daredevils taking Flintoff especially to task on his way to his first Twenty20 century.

Yip De Villers was in Destruction mode again today, great innings by him, master class century

yeah he went to town after Morkel dropped him soon after getting to his 50, Hayden could be fairly destructive though on this pitch as well as Dhoni and Flintoff.

case of told you so with Flintoff picking up yet another injury, given how injury prone he is the ECB really should have said to him that he couldn't go and play yet ahead of their biggest series they let him go away and play in the IPL, crazy.

Deccan Chargers, led by Adam Gilchrist is putting up a fantastic show. Herschelle Gibbs crafted an unbeaten half-century as the Deccan Chargers maintained their position at the top of the Indian Premier League thanks to a six-wicket win over the Chennai Super Kings on Monday.

The Mumbai Indians routed the Kolkata Knight Riders by 92 runs after Sanath Jayasuriya and Sachin Tendulkar pummelled the bowling attack with an opening stand of 127 runs off 74 balls in the day’s other match.

South African Gibbs carried his bat to end on 69 not out off 56 balls as Deccan scored 169 for four in reply to Chennai’s 165 for six at Kingsmead in Durban. The winning runs were scored with three balls of Deccan’s innings remaining and the result gives the franchise four wins out of four matches for a two-point lead a top the IPL standings.

Well done to the Deccan Chargers for winning the IPL 2009, from the bottom of the table last year to the winners this year, great stuff!

Busy watching the closing ceremony now, looks great!wish I could have been there.

Hope this isn't the last time that the IPL is played here in SA!

looks like they're looking to have a second IPL but whether that'll be in South Africa or England remains to be seen.

Would be nice if its held in a different country say every 2 or 3 years, Australia (maybe joint with New Zealand), England and maybe even in America...

Please bring it to SA again soon! :bana: :bana: :bana:
