Don't think Beirne expected B Barrett to take it, and it was a forward pass. Beirne crossed his arms while upright to absorb contact and Barrett's head barely bumped his shoulder before he took a dive.

Might be bias, but I don't want to see reds for what happened at all.

Mitigation is the forward pass, and the fsct he absorbed the hit and didnt accelerate into it

Does a forward pass prior to foul play take it back and cancel it out? Genuine question BTW as it may sound sarcastic.

I get you, maybe stick at yellow given he didn't accelerate but his arm was tucked but a player was running directly at him and he stayed upright.

Cheers, sounds like he was trying to bail out of the tackle - which should be mitigation aplenty, I'd have thought (TVMO disagrees)

I get it, but when someone over runs the passer, the defender cant be expected to make a tackle, and the brave could be argued a brace for impact from a crash ball without the ball.

Its basically caught Beirne out and a slomo has made him look bad, if Beirne wanted to hit Barret high and hard he would have drilled him 5m backwards

20mins I'd imagine. Have seen genuine elbows to faces off the ball go 20mins in the URC this year.
