Since the IRB started stuffing around with all the rules mainly the damn ELV's has Rugby become boring and almost unwatchable?. I'm asking this because I can't really think of anything that's happened in Rugby in the last few years to improve it. The things that have been put into place have ruined the game more than anything. The scrums are rediculous, different rules and interpretations but just recently all the damn kicking that's been going on.

I remember I use to set my alarm and make sure I could wake up 3 o'clock in the morning to watch the All Blacks play but now I'm not too worried if I miss it and I'll just watch the replay instead of watching it live. So what you guys up in the NH think or is it just us SH fans that are getting the crap Rugby?

Yes it is, they should have just left it as it was, instead of pandering to the Tri-Nations teams who were whinging about the way other teams played.

I have never heard anything like it, teams crying about the rules and a union actually attempting to change them to better suit the cry-baby's.

Good thing the NH sides told then to gtfo with that ****.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you and say Sanzar did f#@! things up entirely and I wish to hell they hadn't of bothered with the damn ELV's because now it's just set us all back.

Thought we had two good games on the weekend (Fra vs SA, Ire vs Aus), but there is no denying that the constant meddling with the rules of the game has lead to a decline in entertainment value. A team has to be willing to take risks these days to go searching for a try and as often as not they are unwilling. I really think that the element of fear is holding the game back at international level. Coaching staffs have to back their players to be able to play an attractive, attacking style of rugby without fear of errors. I think what we need to do is let the rules stand as they are for a few years and let the game adjust to them. If things still aren't right in say 5 years, tehn a review is necessary. Perhaps the game and the ethos of coaches will adjust to favour attacking rugby again in the meantime.

...not to self, ignore future posts from Infern0.

Yes Rugby is not being played to an attractive style, and blaming the SANZA so no grounds as most of the changes to the game, and more the styleof play, originates from addapting to NH style of rugby, as well has NH not being happy with the change of rules, which have left us with this unattractive hybrid of a game today.

The problem I can with leaiving the rules for 5 years, is will people still want to watch rugby after 5 years, particuly in countires in which are only now starting to develop rugby.

He has a point... The main promoters of <strike>Turning the game into Rugby League</strike> the ELVs were Ian McIntosh, John Tew, Piet Heymans and the tosspot to end all tosspots, John O'Neil. Now which big organisation are they all members of?

SANZAR has a history of attempting to run rough-shot over the game - Promoting this bullshit myth that the whole of the Southern Hemisphere is one big family and anyone with a different opinion to theirs is learly a Nazi who's only joy in life is killing baby dolphins. Sadly there are so many idiots in the world that a lot believed it and now we have the tossers world over who talk about their Hemisphere as if it's anything to do with their identity.

Then the factions begin.

Then the forking in styles of play begin.

Then the "need" for ELVs begins...

Rugby is easy to fix... Bring Back rucking, bring back shoeing, Bring back the Flying V, Man the f*** up when you get a whack in the gob, referees enforce the breakdown and scrum properly, keep the new 5m law and also keep the 22m rule.

Job done.
