My Faves

BEST FPS
Golden Eye
9/10
Best frag satisfaction (KILLED=end level music...start bond finality music...blood slowly fills screen...wobble to floor...darkness slowly fills screen...long pause before respawning to allow mocking from opponents). Newer games don't emulate this anymore.
Time Splitters 1 and 2
8/10
Great framerate and beautiful levels, options...very complete as a FPS. Could do with a pop out/duck system that was quick ala Golden Eye.

BEST THIRD PERSON SHOOTER
Kill Switch
8/10
Revolutionary cover fire system second to none and intelligent AI. Game lacked more levels, level challenges, multiplayer, and other things but this was a good first up effort with a satisfying control feel, possibly the best 3rd Person control system out.

BEST RUGBY GAME
Jonah Lomu Rugby
8/10
Well ahead of its time with gameplay. Graphics have since been surpassed but gameplay is still holding on to top spopt.

BEST BEAT EM UP
Soul Calibur
8/10
Beautiful graphics and gameplay. I thought the second version went backwards with graphics and especially the framerate.
Dead or Alive 3
8/10
Smooth framerate and good counter system (though a tad too powerful). Excellent tag team system for 4 players

OK, after playing ESPN Basketball for a while...

9/10.
Single player - lots of depth, 24/7 is a very interesting mode. Combine that with NBA franchise mode and we have a winner.
Multiplayer - lots of depth again. One-on-one, NBA, 3 on 3 whatever. I would love to try 4-on-4 with two multi taps one day

Rugby 2004 - 6/10
Call of Duty - 10/10 THIS GAME ROCKS!!!!!!!!
Manhunt - 8/10 Disturbing!!!!!
NHL 2004 - 9/10
Battlefield Vietnam - 8/10
Rise of Nations - 9/10

My games:

Rugby 2004: 5/10
-A lot of teams and stadiums. I loved that it had Waikato stadium made soo well!
-Way over hyped, gameplay let this game down!

V8 Supercars: 4/10
-Great range of touring saloon cars!
-Felt shocking to drive and dosnt live up to the Toca name, Very dissapointing!

Freedom Fighters: 8/10
-Great gameplay, loved the high level of action
-Not long enough and is dark for to much of the game!

NFSU: 9/10
-Best street racing game around, with heaps of upgrades
-Needed some old school cars as well!

GTA VC: 9.8/10
-Best game i have ever owned, ableto live up to expectations easily, if you dont have it there is something wrong with you, a must have!

The Sims Busting out: 7/10
- okay for a giggle, with mates and a bit better then the origanal PS2 version!
- not enough new to keep you entertained for a long period of time!

GT3: 7/10
-Great game to kick off your collection with!
-need to be able to put racing skins on

Jak and Dexter: 2/10
-okay to fool around with
-to predictable and not enough varyation, i would not pay money for it.

Final Fanticy 10: 8/10
-Great game I love it, good graphics and extra activities to do.
-story line wasnt as good as other FF games and dissapointed that they are moving away from a single player adventure to a multiplayer instead!

True Crimes SOLA: 4/10
-not really anything standout in this game, a boaring map (even though its huge) and a boaring story line to match. Not a patch on VC, if you are looking forsomething to full the gap until SA dont go looking here (or driv3r, i hated that!)

Been playing The Surge, late to the party on it as I just didn't expect it to be very good but as a massive fan of the 'Soulsborne' games I had to get my fix elsewhere after taking all the souls games deep into ng+++++etc.

It's great to be fair, not as big as a typical souls game but plays really well and fulfills on the foundations that provide that souls-like 'fix'. It's hard (I reckon it's probably harder than the Souls games), the levels double back and loop around with unlockable shortcuts, the character builds are diverse and effective depending on your play style and the additional dlc elevates the whole package.

There aren't anywhere near as many bosses as your typical Souls game but each 'normal' enemy mob is tougher than the mob equivalent in other games of the sub-genre, so it 'kind of' balances out.

I got the second big dlc (The Good, the Bad and the Augmented) and the final boss left to do and have really enjoyed the experience.

8.5 out of 10 - If you have enjoyed any of the Souls games and looking for something similar, well worth it.
