Bob Skinstad will finally play for the Sharks, more than a decade after completing his schooling in KwaZulu-Natal.

According to keo.co.za, Skinstad, who has taken a self-imposed absence from the game since 2003, will play in next year's Super 14.

Zimbabwe-born Skinstad, who has spent the past three years in England working for both advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi and Sky TV as a rugby pundit, is expected to return to South Africa with his wife, Debbie, and newly born daughter in the next few months.

The former Springbok captain is confident that a successful Super 14 with the Sharks could see him challenge for a World Cup place.

Skinstad, who made his Test debut against England in 1997, turned 30 on July 3 this year.

Skinstad's most recent on-field appearance was in the Corne Krige testimonial match as his former stamping ground, Newlands.

Skinstad played in the 1999 World Cup, but missed out in 2003 because of a broken arm.[/b]
