ANZC closely followed by the NRL. It is easier to support Wellington then the Hurricanes who are just a mangled assortment of unions.

I agree William18 Anz Cup because I'd prefer to support the Wellington Lions whos players are from local clubs rather than the Hurricanes who are made up of Wellington, Hawkesbay, Taranaki, Manawatu, Southland players.

I don't have anything against those places but when you've got 2 teams Hawkesbay and Taranaki who put a bid in for there own Super15 team we'll than you kind of question their loyalty but at the same time I can kinda understand where they're coming from.

Jethro, hows the union scene on CC[/b]

Oops should have expanded that to Curry Cup. And think that competition is doing just fine.

From a Bay point of view we had more players turning out for the Highlanders than the Hurricanes, go fiigure.

When S15 gets into gear it's going to be a whole lot worse, not a lot of Bay support for a Wellington team playing the other four S14 bases to be honest.

I'm not a fan of the Currie Cup. However I do watch most of the ANZ Cup and as much of the Shute Shield as I can procure...

No, and you shouldn't really support the Hurricanes either. We have never done anything for the Hawkes Bay area. Otago rugby has always loved taking your players, so I'm not suprised the Highlanders have so many of them.

At the moment I'd have to say I'm enjoying the ANZC more as a whole then I do the Super 14. Usually it would be the Super 14, but as most people have noted, it's starting to mean less and less as it gets bigger and bigger, and with the ANZC I get to support my local team, not a mash up of other provinces.

Love how Netball is more popular than League.

I personally hate league. Usually its just run straight up, get hit, or SMASHED. and thats it. A few bombs here and there.
Not much in the way of technicality such as set piece etc.

Where are the sevens?!?!?

Sevens should have been an option. Faster. And lot more techinal than league, sometimes even more than rugby.

:o
Maybe for the first 2-3 play the balls, they're always for the forwards to smash up, but then the backs get ago.
League is quality

Probably good form to mention the sponsors, so:

ABSA Currie Cup
FNB Varisty Cup
Vodacom Super 14
SA schools (Coca Cola Craven Week and FNB classic clashes)
Vodacom Cup
ANZAC

in order of preference.

There is little I enjoy more than waking up early on a Saturday morning and going down to watch the Super 14. I love it. I don't know why, but I love it.
