owen have officially signed now, four year deal with no get out clause.

I think you'll find the deal is littered with get out clauses. This time next year, he can leave Newcastle for £12 million, for example.

The most expensive loan deal in history, anyone?

Owen's too much of a professional to leave like that after one season IMO.
Like he stuck it out at Real... [/b]
Ah, but how much profit did Real make on him, £9m? Real is not the cub to play form players, but big names. Quite like England national team really. He wasn't treated fairly.

At Newcastle, he will be an idol. He isn't going to leave, causing the club a loss, after starting 30+ games for them and be so unloyal to walk out to a club which has shown faith in him.

Liverpool's loss and Newcastle's gain.

Well, they've always been the also rans; Finishing lower mid-table season after season, their superstar player always being injured, always screwing up and loosing big games they should easily tie up...

Wait, are we talking about Newcastle United or Newcastle Falcons...

Success has to be earned in general unless there's dubious officials involved *coughliverpoolcough* Newcastle haven't been good enough on the pitch in recent seasons to win anything. Best recent chance was 02/03 but Bellamy got injured at a crucial time and along with it went any hopes.
