The lads cruised into the lightweight double skulls there. Should be no competition for our second gold. Two other rowing teams into finals also.

Rhys McClenaghan, Kellie Harrington and Wiffen the other favourites. Rory Mcilroy and Shane Lowry hopefuls (don't think golf should be there but sure look).

Don't think any of our track and field hopefuls will get gold but the idea that we could finish up with 5+ gold medals is wild. We won 4 medals and no golds across the 00s for comparison.

USA at this stage are suffering from Phelps' retirement.

I know they mentioned that flow is a big thing in judging criteria, and he had some wobbles, but his tricks looked so much more impressive than anyone else's

I think its mainly caused by them not demolishing swimming in the opening days.
