Hmmm not too sure about that. Certainly there have bigger losses in terms of sheer ability, but when you consider how frail the Chiefs tight five is already, it's a pretty massive loss.

Instead of fielding a tight five of:
Manu (50 Super caps/0 International caps)
Elliot (100/4)
Laulala (33/4)
Bird (31/1)
Retallick (59/46)

They'll be fielding:
Graham (11/0)
Elliot (100/4)
Yama****a (3/49)
Allardice (7/0)
Seu (4/0)

That's a significant loss of experience!

It is indeed, but fortunately for the Chiefs the next 6/7 games they have are home games, with the away game being in Wellington and they 2 byes in there, with only the Sharks, Blues and Highlanders having solid but not dominant scrums. I think they will be fine.
