Searle should be involved in England A with Worsley

Understandable, but Eng A purpose is a bridge between youth and senior, so I wouldn't want more than a couple of older players in the 23.

I was fully on board with that when they announced it but it's just leading to players who aren't good enough being picked because Mapletoft likes them

I wouldn't be against them opening it out to older players who aren't capped (or have very few caps). Like Searle: Yes, Ewels: No

Same here. It entirely depends whether there is a player with the requisite potential or not. For example, I don’t think Charlie Atkinson is ever likely to be good enough to make the full squad in anything other than an injury crisis/Lions year. Neither is Searle, but if it comes down to who is the better player right now, he is very clearly ahead.

If Benson or Worsley was regularly starting, I’d rather A squad places go to the, as I think they have much higher ceilings but at present, Searle is the best 10 available for the A squad.

I still think it's a good thing.
But the problem is Mapletoft (IMO)

Didn't see the game, but sounds like yet more inconsistency. I think Saints surely have to be favourites, they're playing aggressive and attractive rugby.

They got a warning but then didn't offend in the 22 again/the penalties they did get spaced out long enough that it never really felt like a card was justified

Northampton looks unstoppable, but man do I like the Bears

Bath should play 10x times the quality they're displaying currently, which ****** me off a bit
I refuse to watch more Quinns games until they grow some balls, it's been really frustrating to see such a talented group of players so poorly coached
