Big move by Louis Picamoles to move from Toulouse to Northampton. France's best player quitting the Top 14 for the Premiership is quite surprising, he 's the first international French player since Kayser and Michalak (Sharks) to move abroad. This could really be game-changer as some others could be tempted to cross the channel as well, the Premiership's open playing style surely being attractive to playersn compared to the Top 14's brutality and fought out games.
Will this benefit, if others follow, the French team in the long run as some French players get some playing time abroad? Also, could the Top 14 become a championship where French players only play second fiddle to foreign stars (if that isn't already the case), as the best French players have transfered abroad?

What a brilliant signing that is for Northampton. Must have gone under the radar of Bath as they have been after a high profile 8 for a while now. Losing Manoa isn't looking so bad now.

Picamoles is a monster and is in the form of his life, huge loss for Toulouse but, on the bright side, I'll have an excuse to watch some more Premiership rugby. Northampton is going to have an over-powerful pack as well, looking forward to these Champions Cup clashes.
