I'd like to have a group chat of dedicated players who actively pursue the rugby sport. Then at the same time they are able to meet and interact with new friends. Can anyone suggest an easy to use functional chat room? Something like Flashchat or RumbleTalk.

As I always like that people who finds solution to their problem let other people know about it as well I decided to let you know as well.
I did a lot of research on this and finally I found perfect application for me. It is called Rumbletalk and I am using it for over a year now already. I am able to post youtube videos with it, charts, pictures. I can also manage my own design and overall it is really good. I really like that I can use the same communication window on my blog, facebook page and my website - it is well sychronizated. It is also really good radio player chat.

If you were able I already found a solution. I also tried your recommendation but I didn't like it much. Rumbletalk on the other hand is a decent software. For me it is the best Youtube Chatroom out there.

I have tried over 5-6 chat room so far. But anything can't fulfill my desire and expectation. Now I decided to use ChatWing chatroom at last. Because I personally visited ChatWing site and have seen lot's of new features have been added there. Even there is an official app for iOS https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/chatwing/id924625444?mt=8. So I am interested to taste it.
And also 10+ social media sites are allowed to register onto ChatWing chat room. So, this is amazing for me.

1. most important, my users are very satisifed with it.
2. it has been working really smooth and feels great to have a cloud chat and not rely on servers and hosting anymore.
3. the Chatwing android and iOS app have been a greta way for myself and moderators to keep control of the chat and get alerts when their is new activity.
4. my users also use the chatwing apps so they can stay connected to my website chats.
5. the chat has helped increase the number of visitors and also the amount of time they spend on my website.
6. as far as pricing chatwing is by far the best value on the web, i pay $11.20 per month for unlimited usage in my chat, on other chat services they limit usage for say 250 users will cost you $50 per month. Chatwing also has a free version that let's you have unlimited usage too which is really nice just lacks a couple features i wanted like uploading my logo and hiding the chatwing name.

Rumbletalk offers you really a lot! A lot! You can change your backround, chat weight, height, design, text style, you can use it as a chat window or as a floating chat as well.
It works on mobile and tablets, it allows you to send videos, pictures, charts. You can do a voice or video calls, can speak public or on private and it just looks beautifully.
I personally didn't like the Chatwing.. That is why I am using Rumbletalk!
