I'm tired of hearing that Jerry Collins is the hard man of world rugby when Sione Lauaki runs all over him.

Well as you can guess I think its Lauaki...

What do you guys think?

Although Lauaki too, is a monster, have you any proof of him "running over" Collins? It's just a term given to him by the media after he was voted "most feared opponent to play against" by other players.

It's also reference to the fact he has played a considerable amount of games under the burden of having a shoulder due for surgery.

Been a lot of these threads lately, I try to reply to them with some decency (as I have done here), but I just get the feeling I'm wasting my time (go figure).

Good luck with your quest Number10, I really do hope you find all the answers you are looking for here.

From a Welsh perspective, I'd give it to either Ian Evans (he just looks like a thug) or Mike Phillips, because he's an ex boxing nutter.

Chabaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal!!!!!!!

yeah, there have been alot of these "strongest, hardest, fastest, biggest, fattest, awesomest, bestest" type of threads... :)

personally, however, i'd say Bakkies Botha of the Boks...in rugby league it's definitely Adrian Morley of GB.

I think one of rugby's hardest men of all time is Bakkies Botha, He is Hard, yet very Mobile and Good to have in your team

Hardest rugby player of all time: JPR Williams. Then we are probably looking at Buck Shelford or even "Iron" Mike Teague(never beaten in a fight during his career). But it has to be JPR the man was a beast. Brave and hard as f***ing nails(ask the Boks).

I think Jerry Collins isn't as hard as he use to be only because he decided a while ago to pick up the rest of his game and has become more athletic rather than just big and strong. Look at when he first started playing no.8 for the All Blacks he was a monster and doing massive hits on heaps of people. Now hes more of a complete player so he hardly ever pulls off his trademark hits he's known for.

These days thou I'd have to say Sebastian Chabal is mean. He hit the hell out of Chris Masoe and gave Ali Williams a broken jaw so he'd have to be right up there.

This is the last man I'd beef with:

Brain's gone numb.

for me the stronger player are sebastien chabal because wen you see the try versus the namibia for the world cup it's amazing , he have 3 player's upon him and it marks the tries

Hahaha, Chabal the hardest player, that's funny.

Buck Shelford- For playing with a ripped scrotum against France
Schalk Burger- For having no regard for his welfare or for any poor soul he encounters whilst flying through a ruck
Bakkies Botha-Same as above
Butch James- Well, for his name and for his tackling

However the manliest, hardest ******* to ever grace a rugby field is His majesty Tony Brown. He should check his undies for rust stains, because im sure he has balls of iron! He can stare down chuck norriss, and he's a ginger!

Modern - Jerry Collins

Back - Brian Lima

Hardest i remember - Cowboy Mark Shaw, Buck Shelford, Willy O.

The names that spring to mind are Collins are Chabal but there's guys like Chris Masoe who used to be a boxer. Bakkies Botha also has a reputation as a bit of a hard man, the rough edged look of the guy has the look of a toughy.
