Rugby's top 5 Wimps

There's a guy in the SH - I just can't remember who (a 10) - who doesn't like to tackle. Is it Cruden?

Running away from the tackle is a very good effort, I agree.

I've always thought that was the idea, otherwise there'd be no tries.

Now i've taken 0.8 seconds to think about it and realise you mean the guy without the ball.

Oh, and I'd like to point out one problem with this thread..... There are NO wimps in Rugby.

Have to agree, there's something a bit wimpish about wearing shoulder pads etc.

you have never ever been close enough to the hits that happen every match, if you had you would never have said that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shoulder pads are not wimpish they just try and keep you in one piece for the next game!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't about where you play rugby, but I've seen very few players wear shoulder pads in my area (/probably country).

I can't think of many professionals that wear them, let alone wingers.

To be fair, In SA they made it compulsory for schoolkids to wear protective gear such as shoulder pads, headgear and mouthguards. They have been lenient the past 2 years however, But I remember when I was in my final year of highschool, there were always a chuckle to see 22 guys try to get their shoulder pads on. Also, Habana is being sponsored by a company that makes shoulder pads.

Habana is also not a wimp, He has been taken out of the air so many times and got back up playing. He also made some great tackles. The only reason why anyone might call him a wimp is because he tends to milk penalties...

If we want a rugby wimp based on looks, I'd like to nominate Wynand Olivier.

Habana can run faster than a 747 so any sign on wimpiness is directly cancelled out :)

he diced a cheetah! And they were in the same incampment, and the cheetah didn't even once try to catch or eat him. Even the cheetah knew he isn't a wimp.

yet, he also threw the biggest footballers dive ever the other week when Owen Farrell viciously clothes lined him with his little finger... even worse was his weak a*s twitter apology.

Wimp on the pitch and Wimp off it.... Poor Brian. ;)

He milked it... and I even said in my previous post that he does that sometimes... But that doesn't make him a wimp...

Nearly all players now wear under garments which have shoulder protection a modern versiopn of shoulder pads and i am talking about TOP 14, even wingers eg Brian Habana. as i said previously this is not wimpish come along and watch TOP 14 or Pro D2 and you will quicckly realise that most pro rugby players wear some sort of protection if not they would nursing even more injuries throughout a very tough season, 26 TOP 14 games and as many as 9 H Cup games this is not counting any International appearances!!!!!!!!!!!

Na he tackles really well, always goes low.

Dang, wish I could remember who it was - I remember last year the commentators being really impressed that this particular player made a tackle...but that was a year ago and my memory is shyyte.

Edit: It was Morne Steyn, and the comment about him not liking to tackle was made back during the 2013 TRC match between NZ & SA.

I'd say I'm one hehe. One time I wanted to clear a guy out of a ruck (running into it) and I didn't expect him to have a firm ground and his head hit my stomach. I kinda had a shock there and was limping off the pitch.
