Rufus Wainwright will be sweating, he's been outmuscled in contact consistently today, no way he's in the Wales 23 with Navidi back
Hadn’t noticed that just simply Navidi got the call almost instantly normally they have to survive at least a clear out just seem stupid quick.

Do Wales have anyone else other than Biggar at 10? Unless it belts with rain in Japan you'd have to think the bomb and hope strategy won't win a world cup...
As an aside I always find it interesting when guys like Anscombe and Parkes can be journeymen in NZ, yet be starters for another side and then win plenty of games (and even be ranked ahead of NZ!)

Not ecstatic about that try, but if Wales had kicked their easy penalties they'd be just as far ahead, so can't really whine.
We can't seem to sustain any pressure, and when we do break we seem to keep missing the support runners; either they're not there or the carrier looks the wrong way.

Penalties are hurting us. Not entirely sure if it's us or ref is just blowing his whistle very quickly. I certainly thought Navidi didn't have his hands clearly on the ball for his turnover.

Well this is an edgy affair. Think the yellow was a little harsh but there you go. England don’t look as fluid in attack as last week, but have much better line speed in defence. That welsh score was a nice bit of play. England aren’t looking too up for this one. Maybe knowing that they are off to the the WC has robbed them of a little urgency?
We need to up this a little in the 2nd half. I don’t think England need much more to turn this around, just dial up the energy a little. JJ looking god again.

Apparently there’s a law that a quick tap can’t be taken after a TMO call. Ref isn’t having a good time out there.

There was another instance where two support runners (can't recall who offhand) had overrun the carrier so the pass couldn't come. Was recycled and knocked on or something after in typical fashion.
Wales fully deserve this 10 point lead even if the manner in which the try was scored is questionable.
It makes sense using a cricket analogy it's equivalent of trying to take a wicket after the umpire has called dead ball. The ref has to stop the clock and he hadn't restarted the game yet.

That’s what I thought.
The only reason the players were bunched up on one side of the pitch was because the ref stopped play.

Well whilst that law is being looked up, Wales have scored the try and it’s been given. I get it that it might be wrong and not strictly correct call by the ref to allow the quick tap. But for me I view it as another example of England not being sharp and reacting to the moment. Little things go against teams all the time. I look at how the team reacts to it and England in that moment were not switched on to the quick tap. Harsh on England, but no point Whinging now and if a similar incident come September/October and England again don’t react fast enough.
The fact that it was given was a joke and Wales not wanting to kick the points by no means justifies the score line.

If the ref wants to go with zero tolerance for holding on at the breakdown that's ok, but then he needs to be consistent and penalise players on the wrong side.
It's a bit different if the game has been stopped and not restarted we can't blame England for not being ready otherwise do team have line up whilst a player is being stretchered off the pitch?.
That onus is purely on the ref to restart the game properly.
Agree: England shouldn't need to be vigilant of the ref forgetting the rules
