Sharks flank Daniel gets two week ban

Sharks flank Keegan Daniel has been suspended for two weeks after being found guilty of foul play by a SANZAR Judicial Hearing on Monday.

The suspension is effective until 21 May, meaning Daniel will miss one match, against the Bulls as the Sharks have a bye this week.

Daniel was cited for a late and dangerous tackle on Brumbies centre Christian Lealiifano last Saturday.

Well, that's crap. Kankowski and Botes injured, Daniel suspended. So far for the 5 top notch backrowers in the squad. Luckily we have a bye this weekend

Any idea when Botes and Kankowski will be fit?
Has Deysel played openside and if so, is he any good?

Deysel has, but I prefer to give a younger flanker the chance at openside, while Deysel will play blindside.

The suspension is fair enough

Kanko and Botes should be fit to face the Bulls, so I doubt we'll see a youngster playing

Probably a blessing for the Sharks. Don't get me wrong, I rate Daniel is a really good player, but the guy's a walking penalty. Deysel, Alberts and Kankow will be a boss back-row! And seriously is Botes that much of a loss? He scores tries but otherwose i rate he's about the 5th best loose-forward at the Sharks

A walking penalty? Seriously? I'm afraid Sharks fans are much harder to bait than that!

As for Kanko, I have just read an injury update, and he will apparently be out for 4-5 weeks...
