[QUOTE="Ragey Erasmus, post: 1052046, member: 56232"] It's not about whether he lied or not, it's about the fact he felt it's ok to rant for an hour on social media when there are proper channels to go through and appears to continue to do so even after the 2nd game. This is unprofessional and makes a mockery of the official channels. It also sets a bad precedent, do we really want it to be established that a coach can do this with no consequence? Coaches in all internationals and maybe even club level will then use social media to pile pressure on refs, rile up fans and lead to personal abuse. The whole thing is unacceptable. Yes fans do it, the difference is fans are not beholden to or representing the team. Players, officials and coaching staff have a duty to act in a certain manner and Rassie has been openly holding that all in contempt. The annoying thing is people acting like bad reffing decisions are new. No, rugby is fundamentally a difficult game to referee. I'd be surprised if we could ever get to a standard much beyond what we have now. Look at old clips and you will see players getting away with **** all the time, far more regularly than they do now. His whinging solves nothing, there is very little that can be done. Blatant bias is something that can be addressed but general inconsistencies are part and parcel of the game. The Lions could also put together 1 hour of footage of decisions that went against them, what purpose would it serve? As an example: Raynal restarting the game during an HIA replacement in the England vs Wales game so England had a player off the pitch who shouldn't have been is a perfectly legitimate thing to challenge. Time is off so the ref is in full control and with no reason he restarted at a time that was blatantly wrong. That's not a spur of the moment issue, missing something or having a slightly longer advantage, it is an out and out act of either incompetence or bias. There is zero excuse in that case. Many decisions during a game are not clear cut and you could have a bunch of fans an experts examine the same footage and reach different conclusions so there will always be complaints about a refs choices.
