Springboks coach Allister Coetzee has been sacked

Any idea who he New coach will be?
It is believed that Rassie Erasmus and his assistant coaches will be serving a dual role of Director of rugby and head coach until after the world cup when a full time head coach will be appointed under Erasmus.

It will most probably be Rassie Erasmus doing a dual role. The only other guy who might be in contention is Franco Smith who is already part of the coaching setup.

SARU will make an announcement about that in the near future. Reports suggest it'll be in April

Bring back John Plumtree? Here is a Kiwi with more knowledge about SA rugby than any other foreigner. Also John Mitchell might be in contention to coach the Boks after the world cup if he becomes successful with the Bulls. SARU will reach a point where they will have to look beyond SA's borders for a foreign coach that can do the job, but it will have to be a foreign coach that has some insight into the workings of SA rugby, the culture and the way of thinking. That's why I mention these two. A guy from the outside like Robbie Deans will not do well because he never coached in SA before and will struggle to cope with the political pressure and quotas etc...Also Eddie Jones might be a good option somewhere in the future when he is done with England. Here is another foreign coach who has some great insight into SA rugby having coached against south african sides for many years and also being Springboks assistant coach under Jake White. Jones is the main reason that SA lost to the Japs. If it was any other coach coaching Japan that day, SA would have won even as crap as they were..

If it were up to me I'd hire a franchise coach from one of the Kiwi franchises (Jamie Joseph, Chris Boyd, Scott Robertson) and just let them do whatever they wanted.
It would never happen though.

I've never seen a Springbok team playing as badly as this one. Yes, they have had some poor seasons in the past, but they always played with power, passion and fire .... not so much the case now.

It's very sad when a great sporting nation hits the rocks (France are pretty poor too at the moment)

The issue is so many of the best Boks go overseas and therefore can't get picked for the national team. The coaching is always a political appointment and they just haven't put the best coaching team in place and given them a chance to succeed.

The less said about the quota system the better

Come on Boks, we want to see you back again!

var result as string;

if (result = 'loss'){
return ('This is AC's Team');
} else if (result = 'draw'){
return ('damn quota');
}else{
return ('Go Rassie');
}
