Starting a maul

Does anyone know how to start a maul from running or standing position in rugby '08 with gamepad? I know it automatically forms in lineouts and sometimes kick offs but shouldn't you be able to form a maul at any time? I've seen the cpu players do it.

I don't know if you can start a standing maul only from kickoffs or lineouts.

i have done it twice in genral play.

i think its totally random though.

I agree.There is no way to just start a maul by pressing a button.It's random.
